Below is a brief synopsis of Dianne's career and description of her works and current activities.
The artist was born in England and spent her early childhood in Kent, "The Garden of England". Educated in Adelaide, she went on to become a dental nurse, but has always pursued an interest in painting.
Marriage and the arrival of a son and daughter kept her busy for some years, but in 1985 she took up part time study of oil painting and later watercolour and pastel under the tutelage of A. Pozenel, Lorraine Hancox, Arthur Phillips and Ross Paterson. Her present distinctive style has evolved as it gradually became clear that she has a strong feel for color and a lifelong love of flowers.
Her Family have become her most valued critics and with her husband Jack, who grows many of the flowers she paints, there has been great teamwork.
Dianne has participated in numerous mixed and juried exhibitions as well as many one woman shows. She has sold works in South Australia, interstate and overseas - England, Hong Kong, New Guinea, New Zealand and USA. Her work is included in several private collections and the City of Noarlunga collection.
The artist is currently a member of both the Adelaide Arts Society and the Royal South Australian Society of Arts. Her present venues for displaying work include Kengsington Gallery, The Barn, Chapel Hill and Woodstock Wineries in Adelaide and DeWard Fine Art Gallery in Brisbane. She has also exhibited in Sweden, USA and Arabia.
Dianne currently conducts watercolour workshops and tutorials which have proved very popular.
At present she is continuing her work based on a lifelong interest and love for flowers.
